Loosen the straps and hip belt on your pack, it helps to put some weight about 10-15 pounds stimulate a loaded pack. Place the pack on your shoulders and adjust so the hip belt is over your hip bones. Buckle the hip belt and tighten it. Then pull on the shoulder straps down to tighten them. The straps should hold the pack against your back to keep the load forward, they should be not be carrying the weight. Next you will want to adjust the load lifters, which are located just below the top of each shoulder. Pull the load lifters to pull weight off your shoulders. Finally buckle the sternum strap across your chest to a comfortable height. Make any final adjusts to the straps that are loose, making sure the majority of the weight is carried by your hips.
